Published, Classes & HELLO TAREE!!
Well i have been sooooo slack and haven't updated for what....about 3 weeks!!!! But now i have a heap of news...........so where to start?????
Ok big news....I'v now been published!!!! YAY!! i have had my first layout published, so i was very excited to see it in this months scrapbooking memories magazine (it's on pg 7) lol. I also have one in next months as well, so very happy and thats also another thing i can tick off my 50 things to do, so slowly i am making my way through my list.
Last weekend i went to the scrapbooking expo at the Brisbane convention center. I did a bit of shopping (as you do) and i attended 2 classes. The classes i enroled in were both being done by Lynette Carroll, i did one her classes earlier this year at sia and found it just fantastic. I certainly wasn't let down.........the 2 classes i did with her were just brilliant and i would highly recommend to anyone to do one of her classes whenever you get the chance.
The first class was a 3 frame clock using the beautiful new blue awning papers and embellishments from k and company.
On of things i love so much about Lynette's classes is that she shows you how to use things you would maybe never use and to look at products in many different ways. Isn't this just the most beautiful clock?
The next classe i did with her was the Mira pocket book, again using new papers and embellishments from k and companys Brenda Walton Mira range.
Lynette again showed us ways to use stickers and embellishments in ways you may not usually use them. The finished product was a small bag with a beautiful book that goes inside.
This is the finished bag.....isn't it sweet.
And below is the mini book.
Isn't it beautiful........I just loved doing the class and also the finished product, so thank you soooo much Lynette for being truely inspiring.
Also in the last few weeks i have done some work for the design team for Finishing Touch Ideas which was really great. I did 3 layouts and an off the page project which will also be put up on the FTI site.....i feel very honoured to have been asked.
And then finally, this week end i made the long trek down to Taree to see the girls down at Scrap a while.
I would like to start by saying a huge thank you to Alita and Graeme for making Scott and myself feel so welcome, and also to Dean, and all the girls who attended the classes i did for also making me feel so welcome.
I did 2 classes, a fast and furious class which saw the girls do 3 layouts in 2 hours useing just 3 patterned papers and 5 cardstock. The girls did a great job and everyone enjoyed the techniques and the finished products were fabulous (so go check them out on the scrap a while gallery.....hope you put them up there girls!! lol) and the other class was a coaster calender class, which again went off really well with everyones calenders looking fantastic. Here were the 3 layouts we did.......
I also did the layouts again, using the same base layout, but changing the papers and the set out slightly to show the girls how you can use the same sketch multiple times and get very different result.
After the classes Alita suggested we all go down to the club at Taree for dinner, so we had a great meal (they sure serve them huge down there) a few drinks and a really great time. I am sooo glad i went down and really look forward to doing it again.
Thought i would just make a mention too that if ever going down that way and looking for somewhere to stay in the town of Taree i would highly recommend the Best Western Caravilla on Victoria st. The rooms are great, big, clean (and we had a huge spa in ours...not just a bath with spa jets..an actual spa!!!!) and the people who run the place were also really great, as we didn't arrive until nearly 1am on saturday morning and that was no trouble at all for them.
And of course be sure to drop in at Scrap a while and say hello to Alita and the gang!!!!!.
