Well this week has seen a good start to making a dent in my yrs 50 things to do. As i have been a bit house bound with my foot (or at least need to rely on someone, namely Virginia to drive me around) i have had a far bit of scrapping time. So i have now completed 5 layouts, booked myself into a class next week to do something i haven't done and i'm going to a crop on the 15th feb to somewhere i haven't been, so well on my way (or at least off to a flying start).

I have also penciled in 3 retreats so far for the yr (just need 1 more and one out of Brisbane) and then that is something else i will have from my list....lol.

Its been a good week, foot is slowly getting better, not as painfull now but still quite black and bruised. Friday night Virginia and i went to Scrapbook Princess for a midnight madness crop which i think i spent more time yapping than scrapping as it was the first one for me this year so we had alot of catching up to do (as we girls do!!!). Had a quiet Australia Day long weekend (due to the foot) stayed at home with the family, took the younger 2 girls down to Wellington Point beach on Sunday arvo, where they had fun in the mud (i think they forgot they were girls) but it provided me with some great photos to scrap. And today i went to a day crop at Scrapbooks etc with Virginia which was really relaxing and i did actually get some scrapping done..lol.

So that about sums it up for this entry, i have uploaded my 5 layouts and also started another gallery to add the 100 i have to do this year. Till next time.......cya

Thought i'd just do a quick entry (as part of my 50 was to keep my blog updated!!) I had all good intentions of updating earlier but i had a hectic start to the week falling off a ladder at work on Tuesday and busting my foot, luckily it's not broken (thank god as that would have meant 6 wks in plaster) cause i'm off on my cruise in just under 4 weeks now, and it would have put a big damper on my scuba plans...lol. So i'v been laid up for the week, had planned being constructive and to get some good scrapping time in there but as all good plans go....it just didn't happen. Well i did get some done but i will include them in my next post in the next day or so, i'll also have an update on the foot as i have the follow up xrays 2morrow.

2007...A year in Review

I thought i would start 2008 by sharing some of my favorite layouts from 2007 and some of the highlights from the year as well.

Last year saw me attend my first scrapbooking retreat.........which was then followed by 3 more....lol.....The first one i attended was SWIG held by the scrapheap, it was great...3 days of non stop scrapping and the best part was you don't have to pack everything up at the end of each day!!! lol. That was it..i was addicted to scrapbook retreats and wanted to go on more. So Virginia (my partner in crime it seems) and i went to 2 retreats held by scrapbooking direct, one in Kennelworth and one at Mt Tamborine and then another SWIG towards the end of the yr. They were fabulous....I really enjoyed them as i made new friends and got to spend quality scrapping time with old ones.

It was also a big year for Big Brother (my other obsession). Last year Virginia and i attended every big brother eviction, this included the launch show and the finale. I also went to a couple of Friday night games shows and Monday nominations. It was great. Again (like the yr before) we religously went down to dreamworld every sunday to meet the evicted housemate and then attend the eviction so i got to meet all 2007's housemates. The best part was the finale weekend, we (Virginia, Bev, Ollie, Jo, Steve, Julie and myself) stayed down the coast at the same hotel as all the housemates, it was great, we got to party with all the housemates and it really made my bb experience the best one yet.

We also did our first ever cruise, my hubby, Virginia, John and myself went on a 7 day cruise to Noumea, Lifou and Vanuatu, we had such a great time we came home and booked another one for this year. So in Feb we are off on another cruise and this time with our kids and another family......really looking forward to
that so stay tuned for the highlights of that later on this yr.

Other highlights for the yr...........Gabby was made a student councellor at school (only 1 child from each of grade 5, 6 was chosen) and for gr 5 it was my Gabby, i was so proud.

Emily also suprised this yr with winning the schools quiet achievment award which is given out to one student from each grade.....Emily got it for yr 9......again making me an extremely proud mum. Then there was Chelsea, my baby, 2007 saw her start school......that made me a sad mum, my last child of to school, no longer a baby anymore.

So overall i had a great 2007, full of highs and firsts and choc full of scrapping. So here we go with 2008.............

How exciting!!!! my Blog is up and running

Well, here it is, my very own blog, up and running (it only took me 4 days and i don't know how many hours of frustration!!!) but i'm here.

So...i guess i'll start by telling you a bit about me.

I am 36, married and have 3 beautiful girls. I have been married to my husband Scott now for just on 10 years and we live in the Redlands. My 3 girls are Emily she is 14, Gabriella she's 10 and Chelsea who is 6.
I work fulltime as a retail manager for a ladies fashion chain and have been there now for just over 5 yrs. I love what i do as i am a real people person, and i like to spend my time feeling i achieved something, and my job (as well as other things) gives me that. I have always had jobs that revolved around customer service, before retail i was a restaurant manager for an Italian restaurant in Logan......thats where i met my husband Scott. (He was the head chef!!)
I got into scrapbooking about 4yrs ago now and what started as a hobby has become my passion (or obsession, it depends on who you ask, hehe)
I have always love doing crafty things, art was my favorite subject at school, but i never found a medium that i truely loved until i discovered scrapbooking. I love that scrapping is such a personal artform as well as the preservation of our memories. I also like the fact that there are really no rules in scrapbooking, nothing is wrong and anyone can do it, thats what a hobby should be like. One of the other things i love about scrapbooking is it is such a social hobby. I have made some great friends through scrapbooking and met some really nice people, i have enjoyed crops and been away on a few weekend scrap retreats, all of which make up highlights of my year.
That then brings me to the reason i have started my Blog.
My friend Virginia and i decided to do a "50 things to do in 2008" list. It was to be a list of 50 things we wanted to do/acheive this year. We made it so that they had to be doable things and things we had talked about doing before. I'm happy with my list...took me a few days to think of 50.....but overall i think acheiving them will be satisfing. So with that said, i have now acheived one thing off my list.......create a blog.....as i we acheive things from the list we are both going to scrap them.......that way by the end of 2008 i will have a book of acheivments. And i will blog my progress and add my pages as i go.
Well until next time then.......
